Health communities built on platforms we don't control are one policy change away from losing the people who depend on them.

    • I've also shared this with the moderators of Caregivers Connect. We'll go through the privacy part together at our next check-in and write down who can see what in each space.

      • Reading this from the dev side, the bit about rented identities hits hardest. Half my client work is sync jobs that copy members out of some SaaS tool they never really owned. With headless UNA the profiles, roles and permissions live in one place, and the Next.js front end just asks for them. Fewer 2am pages for me, too.

A quick look at the UNA features that do most of the work of getting members talking to each other.

Here's the restore checklist I promised, short version:

        • Stop cron jobs and the queue worker first
        • Restore the database, then check row counts on a few key tables
        • Restore uploads and fix file permissions
        • Clear the cache and log in as a regular test member, not as admin

Add your own steps in the comments and I'll fold them in.

          • And write down how long each step took. The next time something breaks for real, you'll know whether you're looking at ten minutes or a whole afternoon.

            • Last one, I promise: keep the checklist somewhere other than the server you're restoring.

Last one, I promise. The cleanup crew packing up on Sunday night, and the very empty room afterwards. Thanks for coming, everyone. Same time next summer?
