Should we open a space for car and motorcycle people?
Car and motorcycle posts keep turning up all over the network, so I'm asking whether you'd use a space of your own.
Over the past year, car and motorcycle posts have turned up all over the network: road trip photos in Outdoor Adventures Club, repair questions in Local Makers Collective, a very proud first oil change on someone's timeline. They get great replies, but they are scattered and easy to miss.
So here is a proposal: a dedicated space for people who drive, ride, fix and restore things with wheels. Before I set anything up, I want to know whether you would actually use it.
What it could include
- Build logs and restoration projects, with before and after photos.
- Repair questions, where the person asking says what they have already tried.
- Road trips and group rides, posted as events so people can join.
- Buying, selling and swapping parts through classified ads rather than the feed.
What I need from you
Comment if you'd join, and tell me what you would post first. If two or three people want to help run it, even better. I would rather open a space with a couple of keen admins than one I check on once a month. If there isn't enough interest, no hard feelings, and car talk carries on happily where it is.

Update a month on: thank you for all the replies and messages. There is real interest, but not yet enough people offering to help run it, so I'm holding off on a separate space for now. In the meantime, please keep using the Cars & Motorcycles category for articles so they're easy to find, and I'll look at this again in spring.
