Weekly rituals that keep a community alive

Simple recurring threads and events that give members a reason to come back.

Communities rarely die from conflict. They fade because there's no reason to come back on any particular day. Weekly rituals fix that. They give members something to look forward to and give you a simple rhythm to plan around.

What makes a good ritual

  • It happens on the same day every week, without fail.
  • It's easy to join: one photo, one sentence, one answer.
  • It's about members, not about you.

Ideas to borrow

  • A Monday thread where everyone shares one goal for the week.
  • A Friday photo thread on a simple theme.
  • A monthly online meetup with a short talk and open chat.
  • A small wins thread where any progress counts.

Give it time

The first few weeks of any ritual are quiet. That's normal. Keep showing up, reply to everyone who joins in, and judge it after a month, not after one week.

This week's task

Pick one ritual, announce it, and run it for four weeks before deciding whether it works. Post what you picked below so others can borrow ideas.

    • Mine for this course: a Friday thread where everyone shares one thing they tried from these lessons. The first one goes up this week.
